Skoda Kodiaq, the latest launch from the Czech manufacturer, has been in the limelight ever since it has been launched in India. Skoda marked its entry in the highly competitive SUV segment with this new launch. However, the Skoda Kodiaq price came as a surprise to everyone. Priced at around Rs. 34.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Kodiaq seems to be quite expensive, but once you dive through the features, you will the brand has very well justified the high pricing with features that make it stand out in the segment. Mechanically, it gets a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that can produce a maximum power output of 150 bhp and a peak torque of 340Nm.
However, if you have liked the car but it seems too expensive to go for, there are a few alternatives. There are a few cars available for a lower price, but equally strong performance and features. The Ford Endeavour is a premium SUV, which has been designed based on the manufacturer’s Edge design philosophy. It has got a muscular body with an aggressively built front and has received premium touches over the right places aesthetically with chrome finish.

The new Fortuner from Toyota gets a flowing body design, which has been borrowed from Lexus. It gets angular curves and cuts over the body, which tends to be attractive. It has received LED DRLs along with a Bi-LED projector headlamp, which adds more to the aggressive look. Moreover, the interior of the car is lavishly designed with perfect ambiance along with several premium touches.
The Honda CV-R is an exception of the lot, as it is a five-seater SUV. It has got the styling elements along with a powerful performance to stand tall among some of the bests within the range. It is premium sub-compact SUV, which has got a comfortable as well as superior looking interior, packed with many safety and convenience features.
Under the hood, the Honda CR-V gets the option of two petrol engines – 2.0-litre unit and a 2.4-litre unit. The smaller engine manages to produce a maximum power output of 154 bhp, while the larger unit develops a maximum power of 187 bhp. Moreover, the car gets a 1.6-litre diesel engine, which can produce a maximum power output of 148 bhp against a peak torque of 350Nm.

The Ford Endeavour is priced within the range of Rs. 25.02 lakh to Rs. 31.52 lakh, which certainly makes it the best car to consider among the three. Secondly, the Toyota Fortuner is priced starting at Rs. 26.02 lakh and goes up to Rs. 31.75 lakh. The Honda CR-V is priced within the range of Rs. 24.43 lakh to Rs. 26.52 lakh.
